- 1939 - Founded by Mr. Stuart Olson, a carpenter from Sweden who immigrated to Edmonton and started the company in 1939.
- 1940's, 50's, 60's - Small but thriving construction company. Many client relationships formed. An expertise was developed in the construction of food processing and light industrial facilities.
- 1967 - A new era began as Allan Olson, Stuart's son, assumed management of the company. Prompting dramatic growth in size, expertise and geographically throughout Western Canada.
- 1985 - Acquisition of Bennett & White in Calgary. The firm was responsible for many substantial projects including Calgary's Glenmore Dam and Hudson's Bay Downtown Store. Bennett & White was particularly noted for its significant expertise in the construction of schools. Stuart Olson, together with Bennett & White, have built in excess of 100 schools and educational facilities throughout Western Canada.
- 1988 - Vancouver office established. Stuart Olson quickly gains a reputation as a major builder for the commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential markets in the Vancouver area.
- 1989 - Acquisition of Camwil Construction in Edmonton, a construction company which specialized in light industrial and pre-engineered building projects.
- 1989 - Joined The Churchill Corporation
A new era commenced when the Churchill Corporation purchased the company from the Olson family. The Churchill Corporation, based in Edmonton and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (symbol CUQ), is a diversified construction company active in Western Canada, Northwestern Ontario, and The Northwest Territories.
