Savanna Energy Services Shop & Office Complex
Leduc, AlbertaThis project included the design, fabrication, and installation of three buildings and an office spanning two sites. Site one is comprised of two buildings, a drilling building totalling 64,000 square feet and a 15,200 square feet fabrication building on a 30-acre land parcel. Site two consists of a 38,400 square foot facility on eight acres of land. The project was completed ahead of schedule despite working through harsh winter conditions and a difficult environmental site.

Conestoga Cold Storage
Calgary, AlbertaHousing conventional, low-rise freeze and distribution space, upgrading the Conestoga Cold Storage facility involved construction of an additional 18,000 square feet. Integrating the new space with the existing, as well as building insulated hoardings to prevent temperature transfer, were critical aspects of the project. The 86,000 square foot facility is complete with a 12-bay loading dock, and staging and administration areas.

Seasons Retirement Communities
London, OntarioLocated in London, Ontario, this eight storey seniors’ residence consists of 142 suites with 104 underground parking spaces. With over 200,000 sq. ft. gross floor area, this facility has multiple common areas and gathering spaces as well as a kitchen, lobby, roof garden and beautifully landscaped areas for the residents enjoyment.

River Centre
Saskatoon, SaskatchewanThe River Centre is a LEED® Gold certified, mixed-use office, retail and entertainment development in Saskatoon providing first-class office space to the growing downtown core. The cast-in-place concrete structure encompasses a total of 108,000 square feet of office space, one level of underground parking and a main-floor restaurant with an outdoor patio. The building location offers sustainable amenities such easy access to green spaces and pathways.

Mac Don Parts Distribution Centre
Winnipeg, ManitobaA design-build project of approximately 110,000 square feet, the distribution centre also includes two floors of office space. The new centre has increased the centre’s capacity three-fold, making the Parts Distribution Centre significantly more efficient. New technologies were incorporated to ensure the building systems could function properly, and 12 new loading dock bays were included to streamline shipping and receiving. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

Bison Point Phase II
Winnipeg, ManitobaThis seven-storey apartment complex in Winnipeg, MB, features luxurious one and two-bedroom apartments. With 166 units, the suites in Bison Pointe II have open design floor plans and large windows that boast contemporary, but functional living spaces. The suites include a kitchen, bathroom, in-suite laundry, and private balconies. Comprised of several different unit configurations, the building is also conveniently situation to essential services like grocery stores, banks, the University of Manitoba and other amenities.

Simplot Fry Processing Plant
Portage la Prairie, ManitobaThe Simplot Fry Processing plant situated on a rural greenfield space is a design build project. In addition to the base building construction, coordianting the installation of extensive processing equipment required was also completed. The plant is comprised of the processing area and freezers to house the product. The freezers include a unique feature allowing for a direct loading approach to either rail car or tractor trailer.

Kildonan Place Mall
Winnipeg, ManitobaOver 160,000 square feet of space was redesigned and renovated at the Kildonan Place Mall. As one of Winnipeg’s busiest shopping malls, additional walkways to join the existing space to the new entrances were also incorporated for shoppers’ convenience. Revitalization work was also completed on the roof during the construction phase which included a new roofing system. Offering over 100 stores and services, six-screen theatre, and food court, Kildonan Place has become a landmark for residents and visitors in the city.

RBC Convention Centre
Winnipeg, ManitobaA contribution to Winnipeg’s Sports, Hospitality and Entertainment District (SHED), the RBC Convention Centre has become a competitive and relevant convention destination in the North American market. The 52,000 square foot expansion also included the addition of a new 24,000 square foot ballroom equipped with a full commercial-grade kitchen. The signature piece located on the third floor, The City Room, boasts floor to ceiling windows showcasing the downtown skyline and downtown lights at night. The RBC Convention Centre was delivered on time and on budget.

Scotiabank Cineplex Theatre
Saskatoon, SaskatchewanA total of 12,500 square feet of theatre and main floor retail space was added to the Saskatoon Scotiabank Cineplex Theatre for this project. Many upgrades were completed, including three VIP experience theatres, lounge area, and a premium in-theatre food service. Expanding the theatre has made the location a true entertainment hub, elevating the experience for movie-goers and patrons alike.

745 THURLOW
VANCOUVER, B.CConstruction commenced on this AAA 25 storey office tower in 2012. Designed to LEED® Gold certification standards, this exciting property features a green roof on the third floor and top level to allow for water harvesting and water re-use strategies. These green roofs also provide terraces accessible to the restaurant, retail and office tenants with outdoor seating, lounge and entertainment areas. The first three floors of the building is dedicated to retail and restaurant space, with a six-level parkade below grade. A glass curtain wall rises at an outward angle on the north and west facades, giving the building a different look from each viewing angle.

ABERDEEN MALL
RICHMOND, B.C.Completed in 2003, this 360,000 sq. ft. shopping mall caters to the Asian community in the Vancouver area. Named after Aberdeen Harbour in Hong Kong, this destination mall has over 100 stores on 3 levels. Construction began on the redevelopment of Aberdeen Mall in 2002 and was fast-tracked to achieve an aggressive December 2003 grand opening. Pre-construction planning and construction management services were extensive and included demolition, construction of Hollybridge Way as well as sewers, sidewalks and street lighting. Aberdeen Mall is a focal point of downtown Vancouver.

WALMART DISTRIBUTION CENTRE
BALZAC, ALBERTAPhase 1 of this state of the art warehouse and distribution centre was completed in 2010. Some of the most advanced construction methods were used for this 400,000 sq. ft. freezer and refrigerated storage facility and 25,000 sq. ft. of office space. Sustainability was built into the design with LED lighting, hydrogen fuel cells to power vehicles and a TOP reflective roof. Phase 1 generated 800 new jobs. Phase 2 at 433,000 sq. ft. was awarded to Stuart Olson at the successful completion of Phase 1.

WESTMOUNT CORPORATE CAMPUS
CALGARY, ALBERTAThis $130 million, multi-phase corporate office campus, located across from Mount Royal University, was completed in 2013. Construction began in 2006 and today, this exclusive business centre is comprised of 5 office buildings, totaling 600,000 sq. ft., as well as an above ground parkade. By working in close collaboration with the entire project team, Stuart Olson was able to develop a phasing plan to sequence the construction and maximize the project’s commercial viability. The project is targeting LEED® Silver certification.

HOLIDAY INN
SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWANThis $25 million hotel was completed in 2012. With 11 storeys and 160 units, this facility features a full range of guest amenities including a heated parkade, dining facilities and a fitness area with pool. The building was constructed utilizing precast concrete components and the Deltabeam Structural System, the first project to use the system in Canada.

WILLINGDON PARK 1508 & 1509
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADAThe two new four-storey core-and-shell buildings are constructed with cast-in-place concrete, architectural composite metal and precast panels, and curtainwall glazing. Achieved LEED® Gold certification. Innovative deep foundation solution over 50' peat bog.

BROADWAY TECH CENTRE, BUILDINGS 5 & 7
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADADesigned to LEED® Platinum, the two 3-storey buildings were constructed on top of existing warehouses. Each building is approximately 79,000 SF of office space.

DISCOVERY GREEN BUILDING 12
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADABuilt as a base for high-tech research companies. It was designed to attain LEED® Gold but in 2009, it was awarded LEED® Platinum status, making it the first Core and Shell building in Canada to achieved this honor.

CASCADES CASINO, HOTEL & CONVENTION CENTRE
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADAThe two-storey casino and conference centre's structure is tilt-up concrete on steel piles and the six-storey hotel superstructure is structural steel studs with the lower floors cast-in-place concrete.

5955 BALSAM
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADAThis 12 level luxurious residential high-rise was built to provide grand, one-level homes for those used to living in large, custom made family houses.

ABERDEEN RESIDENCES
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADAThe project consists of two levels of commercial space and six levels of residential space (120 units).

SALVATION ARMY GATEWAY OF HOPE
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADAThree-story, state of the art facility for the homeless and at-risk population in the Langley area. The facility provides 30 emergency shelter beds and 25 supportive transitional beds and was built to LEED® Gold standards.

SODCL NEW MB OFFICE
MANITOBA, CANADAThis new office is a steel super structure on a driven pile foundation with crawl space, and was completed ahead of schedule. The exterior glazing is a curtain wall system and the remaining portion of the structure is an insulated metal panel. The layout features multiple offices with mixed open office areas, boardrooms, a large enclosed atrium, training room, and a fitness room complete with showers. Special features include year round interior green space and an abundance of natural day lighting.

17 WING HEADQUARTERS
MANITOBA, CANADAThe Headquarters facility is a 48,000 sq. ft. steel framed two-storey structure at the heart of 17 Wing, both in location and function. It is situated at 17 Wing’s main entrance and will be the first and last place all Wing members visit on assignment to the base. It is also the hub to greet and welcome all visiting VIP's.

TD CENTRE
MANITOBA, CANADADesign-Build contract for this 450,000 s.f., 33-storey office tower in Winnipeg. This $45 million contract completed Winnipeg’s tallest office tower and was uniquely planned to encapsulate the existing CN Telecommunications Centre Building. SODCL also provided design input throughout the project. The project was a fast-track design and construction process and was completed ahead of schedule for the first phase and on schedule for the balance of the tower.

BLUE BOMBER RETAIL STORE
MANITOBA, CANADAAs part of the new stadium construction, a new 15,000 sq.ft retail store was outfitted to accommodate merchandise sales. The store has access from the stadium side as well as a general public side to accommodate ticket holders as well as general public. Finished in bomber colors with high end millwork to display merchandise, the space also includes a coloured concrete floor topping that highlights the contemporary feel of the facility.

HOME OUTFITTERS KENASTON
MANITOBA, CANADADesign-Build contract for the construction of Home Outfitters’ new $1.3 M, 40,000 square foot facility in the Kenaston Crossing Shopping Centre. SODCL was selected because of our ability to satisfy a demanding construction schedule. The project was completed in September 2001.

TONY ROMA'S
MANITOBA, CANADAThis $1,200,000 renovation was completed in just one month. The 8,100 s.f. upgrade included, a grey cultured stone trim entrance, and the dinning room lounge have been made over in an open-concept design featuring a contemporary finish of birch wood walls with cherry accents. Booths are placed around the perimeter of both the lounge and the dinning room, with tables in the middle to enhance flow.

MOTEL 6 ESTAVAN
MANITOBA, CANADAThis 68-unit, 3-storey, wood framed building is one of the fastest built hotels in Western Canada. Highlights of construction are the bathrooms, which were all prefinised in factory and installed directly on site. This project was delivered under a Construction Management contract.

UNIVERSITY OF MB STUDENT RESIDENCE
MANITOBA, CANADAThe Arthur V. Mauro Student Residence is a 138,000 sq. ft. cast-in-place concrete structure that accommodates 310 students in 155 apartment-style suites. Each 2-bedroom suite contains a shared kitchenette and bathroom. Study lounges are provided at both ends of each floor. Administrative areas and a common area is located on the main floor. Exercise and laundry facilities are located in the basement. The building was occupied in late August, 2003 at a cost of $15 M.

WOODHAVEN CONDOS
MANITOBA, CANADABacking onto Sturgeon Creek in Winnipeg, this luxurious seven-storey building features 36 two-bedroom suites, equipped with large kitchens, living rooms, ensuites off master bedrooms, balconies, and air conditioning. The main floor also features a large meeting room with kitchen facilities, exercise room and covered parking.

KENORA HEADWATERS CONDOMINIUMS
MANITOBA, CANADAThis 10-unit, four storey, wood framed condominium building is situated adjacent to the mouth of the Winnipeg River on Lake of the Woods. The foundation walls are constructed using ICF formwork tehcniques, and all of the exterior walls are prefabriated SIPS panels. The project was completed under a Construction Management contract.

STANDARD AERO GE RDTC
MANITOBA, CANADASODCL constructed this cold weather jet engine research and development testing facility at the Winnipeg International Airport which required heightened security measures.

MAPLE LEAF FOODS
MANITOBA, CANADAThe Maple Leaf plant captured the attention of the world meat industry. Process equipment manufacturers were involved from a multitude of countries including Holland, Denmark, US, Germany and Canada. This $140M, 475,000 square foot facility, is the second largest pork facility in the world. This C.F.I.A. certified project involved a very complex (and in cases proprietary) equipment installation. It has the Kill / Cut / Processing capacity for 1,200 hogs per hour and will employ 1,100 people per 8 hour shift. SODCL provided the Construction Management services for the entire project including supervision of the equipment installation. The project was completed in Fall 1999.

MARMON/KEYSTONE
MANITOBA, CANADADesign-Build contract for a 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse addition for Marmon/Keystone metal fabrication facility. The facility was completed ahead of schedule and deficiency-free.

PHOENIX TECHNOLOGY SERVICE WAREHOUSE
ALBERTA, CANADAPhoenix technology services is a horizontal and directional drilling company for oil and natural gas producers in Canada and the United States. The warehouse is a 10,114 m2 office/industrial building (service showP0. Construction is primarily load bearing steel frame. The service shop is a pre-engineered structure that will provide warehouse space for the development, maintenance and construction of oil field service equip.

5TH & 5TH LOBBY & TI
SOUTHERN ALBERTARefurbishment of a downtown hi-rise 30 ft high 2-storey lobby, including the entrance vestibules and renovation of the exterior main and second floor lobby.

WATER CENTRE
SOUTHERN ALBERTAThe water centre has a complex design creating a curve in both the horizontal and vertical perspective designed in the shape of a wave. The 13,000 sw m four storey water centre obtained a LEED® Gold rating.

WESTMOUNT CORPORATE CAMPUS BLDG #3
SOUTHERN ALBERTABuilding 3 is home to UFA headquarters with 24,833 m2 over eight floors. The floorplate is 25,000 ft2 and the building includes two levels of underground parking. The building is a structural steel frame withcurtain wall glazing and EPDM roof.

NE CORPORATE WAREHOUSE
SOUTHERN ALBERTAWe completed this renovation to an existing warehouse, office and exteriors for the City of Calgary’s public art and records storage. The building includes a climate controlled environment in a self-contained space to provide humidity control required for storing art pieces. We also constructed an additional office and common space within the building.

FAIRMONT HOTEL MACDONALD
NORTHERN ALBERTABuilt in 1915, this hotel is surrounded by many shops, theatres and cinemas. Renovations to this landmark hotel involved extensive interior work as well as restoration of the exterior façade to its original grandeur.
